About Med-GEM
What is Med-GEM:
The Med-GEM (Mediterranean Green Electrons & Molecules) is an EU-funded project that aims to create and operate a MED-GEM Network in the Southern Neighborhood region by convening dialogue and collaborative activities between key energy stakeholders, in order to facilitate and promote the growth of the GEM industry at regional level.
What Med-GEM does:
Med-GEM supports the energy transition in the Southern Neighborhood countries and contributes to overcoming socioeconomic and climate issues in the region through the development/usage of appropriate structures and instruments for practical cooperation activities of mutual interest in the area of clean energy technologies and resources.
How Med-Gem operates:
- Accelerate the deployment of renewable power generation
- Support the elaboration and implementation of policies for the production and trade of Power to X products (hydrogen and derivatives)
- Assess and exploit the potential for biogas, bio-methane and other forms of renewable gas
- Raise public awareness on the imperative need for an accelerated clean energy transition by involving civil society organizations
How we do it
The Med-GEM network is structured around four thematic components:
